Mission

To guide First Nations families through a transformative journey to break cycles of dysfunction and thrive without limits. We provide holistic services through a foundation of culture and connection.

Values (the backbone of all that we do):

Our team of professional staff are committed to:

  • Perpetuating a healthy sense of community
  • Providing a family-centered program grounded in the Virtues of Respect, Resiliency, Responsibility and Transformation
  • Practicing the best quality of services grounded in self-care
  • Cultural supports everyone that enters our doors

With the basis of Nuuchah-nulth values:

  • ʔiisaakst’ał –respect self and one another
  • Hupiicst’ał – help one another
  • Hahuupst’ał – teach one another
  • Yaʔakst’ał – love self and one another
  • Haałapi ḥaw̓ił – we are connected to Creator
  • Hišuk ʔiš c’awaak – we are all one and interconnected
  • "The ultimate law of our people is the absolute protection of our offspring, for this is the way we [as Nuu-chah-nulth] people will survive" (Alice Paul, Hesquiʔqsup)

We carry virtues of resiliency, responsibility and transformation

Funding

We are primarily funded by Island Health, First Nations Health Authority, Ministry of Children and Family Development, School District #70, and Aboriginal Head Start.

We are seeking funding for other projects which will be posted on our site as they become available.
